04 (Spanglish): MERENDIANDO with Augusto Bitter

EN: Welcome to Radio Aluna Theatre! Join us for our fourth episode of Season 1, and our first Merendiando episode!

Radio Aluna Theatre works like this: First we’ll present a full-length stage play adapted for the radio, in a series of episodes. Then your hosts Monica and Camila will present a Merendiando episode, where we’ll discuss topics that the play inspires with community members, artists involved in the production, and/or whatever our heart desires. Think of it as a book club for plays. 

This week, Monica and Camila sit down with the wonderful Toronto-based theatre artist Augusto Bitter. Augusto voiced the title character of Leo in Leo by Rosa Labordé, the play we've been following for the past three weeks. In this episode we talk about leaving home, finding home, tar sands vs. Tarzan, and learning our Latinx history through plays. Grab a snack and dive in with us!

ESP: Le damos la bienvenida a Radio Aluna Teatro! ¡Escucha nuestro cuarto episodio de la  primera temporada y el primer episodio de Merendiando!

Radio Aluna Teatro funciona de esta manera: Primero escuche una obra teatral completa adaptada para el radio, en una serie de episodios. Después acompañe a Mónica y Camila en un episodio de “Merendiando”, en donde hablarán de temas inspirados por la obra de teatro en compañía de miembros de la comunidad, artistas de la obra teatral, o lo que tu corazón pida. Piense que es como un club de lectura para obras de teatro.

Esta semana Mónica y Camila se sentaron a hablar con el maravilloso Augusto Bitter, artista Venezolano-Canadiense. Augusto da voz al personaje principal Leo en Leo de Rosa Labordé, la obra que hemos escuchado por las últimas 3 semanas. En este episodio hablamos de como es dejar tu hogar, encontrar un hogar, arenas de alquitrán vs. Tarzan, y cómo podemos aprender acerca de nuestra historia Latinx por medio de obras teatrales. Agarre un snack y empecemos!
