30 (English): MERENDIANDO with xLq

This week’s episode features Toronto-based pop art duo, xLq!

xLq is a body of pop art performance and a lifestyle practiced by Jordan Campbell and Maddie Bautista. Their show 4inXchange has now transitioned into an online version, streaming on May 15 & 16. 

We dove into Jordan and Maddie’s thoughts on money, garbage, what makes a good art party, and the inspiration behind their unique visual aesthetic (check out their instagram page to see what we mean!).

This week’s Meriendas de Pandemia, or Pandemic Snacks, are the “Mexican childhood dream” Tajin (a perfect blend of chilli peppers, sea salt, and lime, often used to season fruit and veggies), and homemade sourdough bread (that when made by others is extra delicious)!

Nuestrxs invitadxs de esta semana es el dúo ‘pop art’ basadxs en Toronto, xLq! 

xLq es un colectivo artístico de ‘performance art pop’ y al igual que un estilo de vida practicado por Jordan Campbell y Maddie Bautista. Su show 4inXchange ha sido adaptado a una versión en línea, que se transmitirá en vivo el 15 y 16 de mayo.

Nos sumergimos en los pensamientos de Jordan y Maddie al hablar sobre el dinero, la basura, como crear una buena fiesta de arte y la inspiración detrás de su estética visual única (¡mira su página de instagram para ver a qué nos referimos!).

Las Meriendas de Pandemia de esta semana, o Pandemic Snacks, son el Tajin, “un dulce que te hace recordar la infancia mexicana” (una combinación perfecta de 3 chiles, limón y sal que a menudo se usa para sazonar frutas y verduras), y pan casero de masa fermentada (que cuando está hecho por otros es extra delicioso)!
